Failed Easter Ideas

Hi all! I hope y'all are having a wonderful Easter! Although I think it's important to remember and recognize the real story behind Easter, it's still great to have fun activities to help make Easter more memorable, especially for kids. However, some events don't always go as planned. Here are some failed Easter ideas:

1. Re-enactment of the crucifixion of Jesus, complete with yelling mobs and lots of blood. This has proved to be extremely traumatizing for young kids, and it's difficult finding someone willing to play the part of Jesus Christ.

2. Rotten Egg Scavenger Hunt. The hunt actually goes pretty well, since the eggs are decorated very nicely. It isn't until all the eggs are found and the kids start cracking them on each other looking for prizes do we have a smelly problem.

3. In depth analysis of the life of Jesus. Now, I'm not saying the life of Jesus wasn't interesting and miraculous. All I know is that it's very difficult to get a bunch of 5-year-olds to sit still for 7 hours while listening to a monotonous recollection of Jesus' life.

4. Attack of the rabid Easter bunnies. The general idea is cute. What could be more fun that waking up to a little cluster of fluffy bunnies? The only problem is when one bunny contracts rabies and spreads it to the other bunnies. Easter bunnies that are foaming from the mouth and twitching aren't as fun.

Until next time,
<3 Lucero
