DIY Face Masks!

Hi everyone!

The summer is approaching (in Texas, it's already here!) and that means HEAT! The heat can be fun, for a day at the pool or the beach. However, the hot weather makes my skin very oily, and that means that my skin is more prone to breakouts. It seems that even the most high end products can't clear my skin! I've found that the best solution for my skin is to avoid chemicals, and instead go the natural route.  Here are some all natural face masks that are great for summertime skin!

Mediterranean Summer- This mask requires just two ingredients: plain/Greek yogurt, and honey! You'll need a tablespoon of each. Just mix them together, and apply to the face. Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes. Both the yogurt and honey contain antioxidants and vitamins, and are great for acne prone skin.

Sunrise Parfait- For this mask you'll need a tablespoon plain/Greek yogurt, a quarter of a banana, and a tablespoon oatmeal. Mash this concoction together, and leave on for 20-30 minutes. This is great for skin that has been damaged by the sun, because the oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties.

Green Supreme- This mask requires a quarter of an avocado, and a tablespoon of honey. Mix these together and apply to the face for 20-30 minutes. This is perfect for moisturizing without clogging pores. The honey tightens the skin, and the avocado works to hydrate the skin.

Veggie Delight - This isn't necessarily a mask, but a great exfoliator. You'll need a tomato, and a tablespoon of organic cane sugar. Cut the "top" off of the tomato, (the stem) grab the stem, and rub the tomato with sugar. Then, apply the stem to your face and rub in circular motions. The tomato has lycopene (which gives it it's crimson color) which is a very powerful antioxidant.

Until next time,
